WEEKLY FUNDING WATCH - May 30th thru June 5th
Below you see will an analysis of the prior weeks funding environment. Capital Hunter reviewed venture capital, private equity and debt financings for all private and public companies in the United States, Canada, and Internationally. Capital Hunter reviewed the data based on Industry, Geography, and Stages of Development. All company financings supporting our statistics and graphs are available to our subscribers.

This week Capital Hunter identified a total of 64 funding events in North America raising a total of $3.369 billion in equity and debt. Internationally, we identified 13 funding events raising a total of $176 million in equity and $1.795 billion in debt.
The majority of the companies funded in North America (56 out of the 64) are located in the United States. Below are the highlights:
56 - U.S. FUNDED COMPANIES
Total capital raised was $3.205 billion with $517 million in equity and $2.205 billion in debt. California companies received 43% of the total $517 million raised in equity raised in the United States. Below are a few pie charts that illustrate the total equity financings in the United States by Geography, Industry and Stage of Development for the week:

From the 56 companies financed, 35 are privately held and 21 are publicly traded companies. Total debt and equity in the capital markets increased this week, compared to last week, by 66%; Venture capitalists increased their investments this week by 27% compared to last week and funded 27 Companies for a total of $296 million. The increase in activity this week is primarily explained by the low volume of financings last week because of short week. The average venture capital deal size this week was approximately $10.95 million.
