Food for Thought

1. Cheap cash has forced the money supply through the roof and the nation’s total credit as a percentage of GDP to an all time high – over 350% which has not been seen since the great depression.
2. Housing prices, energy, and health care costs have increased at a significantly faster rate than household incomes.
3. Greenspan touts strong economy opening the doors for further rate increases.
4. Housing inventories are at a five year high. Is this tied to the increasing interest rates and all the sub prime and interest only loans?
5. Trade deficit keeps growing.
6. Venture capital activity is bouncing sideways but up slightly from the prior year.
7. The 2004 IPO market has been good.
