GEOGRAPHY

An Idaho based company raised 44% of the total $1.010 billion in equity raised in the United States this past week. Micron Technology, Inc. is a Boise based NYSE company traded under ticker symbol MU. The company manufactures DRAM, SRAM, FLASH and other memory components and printed circuit board assemblies. Also produces PC's and remote intelligent communications products. Intel Capital invested $450 million in Micron in exchange for rights to common stock representing approximately 5.3 percent of Micron's outstanding common stock.

INDUSTRY

Manufacturing companies received 46% of the total $1.010 billion in equity raised in the United States this period. Micron Technologies, Inc. was the largest financing in the manufacturing sector.

NYSE companies raised 63% of the equity this period. Again, Micron Technology was the largest financing in this category.

VENTURE CAPITAL

Venture capitalists in the United States invested 25% fewer dollars this past week compared to the week before and funded 21 Companies for a total of $210 million.
