The average deal size was approximately 9.00 million. The amount of venture capital invested this period increased by 21% compared to last periods $313 million. |

The largest private venture financing in California this period was into Level 5 Networks . Level 5 Networks raised $30 million and is a Sunnyvale, California based provider of integrated solutions that allow Ethernet Networks to be used as future-proof high-performance server interconnects. |

The software sector raised 22% of the venture capital this period. Eleven software companies raised $79.4 million in venture financing. The largest private venture financing in the software sector this period was into Hellosoft. Hellosoft raised 16 million and is a San Jose, California based provider of software solutions for the VoIP, Wi-Fi, cellular and converged markets. |
